Imaginary Cards Jam - "Grip"

The game that never came to be.

About a year ago, I had prototyped with a friend a 2-player card game that can be played with a regular deck of cards; the theme was about climbing (and it was not using mechanics from the "climbing" card game genre!)

It never got past the prototyping phase, but the goal was to ascend a grid with your character, get to the finish, and permanently alter your deck by cutting your cards in half and taping them with other halves. 

This meant that one card could eventually have two possible moves, which lead to different deck strategies.

I decided to illustrate one of the "special" cards from the deck for the Imaginary Cards Jam.
